Membership is generally limited to a maximum of two members from any one organization. Individuals who are retired or self-employed are equally welcome as members. Applicants must be involved in pedestrian slipping in some form and will bring experience and expertise to the group in order that they can contribute constructively to the group rather than merely using the group to further their own knowledge or simply to further their own business.
Application for membership requires two sponsors from the existing membership to support the application. Typically our members are drawn from flooring manufacturers, health and safety organizations, engineering consultants specializing in slipping accidents, testing and research organizations and slip test equipment manufacturers.
When an applicant is admitted as a member, that individual/organization remains a probationary member for a period of 12 months after which time, providing he has been seen to contribute to the group, he will be admitted as a full member.
Fees
Annual fees for membership are currently £100. This is essentially to cover the cost of the three meetings. Other charges may be made for publications, conferences etc. Overseas members are welcome at any meeting should they be in the UK at the time.
