The UK’s independent authority on slip resistance

What does the law require in the UK In terms of Slip Resistance?

There are various regulations that refer to slip regulations, for example the “The Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992” and the correcponding HSE recommendation
“Workplace health, safety and welfare”.

The HSE has a reference document that gives guidance on “Assessing the slip resistance of flooring”. Core principle is that “risk has to be managed”, as a general rule surfaces are unlikely to cause problems if they achieve 36+ PTV in the conditions of end use , when tested to the HSE preferred method, using the pendulum to the UKSRG Guidelines.
